Safe & Portable Drinking Water: Ogidi-Gbegbaje Builds, Constructs Four Block of Modern Toilets, Donates For Delta Schools.

The outgoing President of the Rotary Club Asaba GRA branch, Sir Edwin Ogidi-gbegbaje has said that the club will continue to promote the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in order to achieve agenda 2030. Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje is also the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocols.


He said that the full implementation of SDG 6 will help achieve universal and equitable access to clean, safe and affordable drinking water for all.

Sir Eddy Ogidi-gbegbaje was talking to reporters wednesday at Ashinze Primary School, Azagba Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, Delta State during the launch of the borehole with 3000 litres storage tanks. The school also received a donation of four block of modern toilets from Rotary Club International Asaba GRA. Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje highlighted the need to support Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa Government and the PDP in the stronger Delta agenda.

The Permanent Secretary recounted the Mission statement of Rotary club of Asaba GRA and said that it provided the vision which guided the club to rescue Ashinze Primary School in Aniocha South local Government Area which was in dire need of portable water and toilet.

He continued; “touching lives positively is what the Rotary Club of Asaba GRA exemplifies. We have just donated a 3000 Gallons of capacity water project and four block of modern toilets to Ashinze Primary School, Azagba Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State”. As the outgoing President, Rotary Club Asaba GRA, I donate the toilets to the pupils and teachers. The the water project and the accompanying generator will serve both the school and entire community”.

“As part of efforts towards supporting the stronger Delta agenda of this present PDP administration led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Rotary Club of Asaba GRA under my leadership tends to promote SDGs 6, and 4 in terms of supporting quality education in primary schools. We also support good management of water resources including waste water and ecosystem management in order to promote good school culture”.

The Head Teacher, Ashinze primary school, Asagba Ogwashi-Uku, Margaret Okpah thanked Rotary Club of Asaba GRA under the leadership of the outgoing President, Rtn. Sir Edwin Ogidi-gbegbaje for his kind gestures especially for paying special attention to the needs of girls, Women and all those in vulnerable situations.

Delta Government House PS also told our reporter that, prior to the Azagba Ogwashi-Uku borehole and four block of toilets commissioning, the Rotary Club of Asaba GRA inducted interested new members into the club earlier even as the group donated 299 Literally Books, 23 Science Books in various subject to the Anglican Girls Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba to rekindle their reading culture.

Sir Eddy Ogidi-gbegbaje used the opportunity to also Sensitize the students on the fight against Covid 19.
