The Leadership of Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), South-South & South-East Chapter has condemned in strong terms today’s attack on the precious life and property of its National Spokesman and PDP’s Federal House of Representatives Candidate For Ideato Federal Constituency, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere in Imo State by some hoodlums alleged to be agents of an aide to Imo State Governor.

In a press statement today being on Saturday, January 14, 2023 by the South-South & South-East Spokesman of Coalition of United Political Parties, and Delta State Governorship Candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Prince Henry Eze (JP), which was made available to some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital described the ugly development and the dastardly attack on their National Leader.

While praying that nothing happens to the life of their leader, they therefore sympatizes with him for the loss of some of his family members during the attack.He therefore urges Security Agencies, Inspector General of Police to quickly wade into the attack and ensure that thorough investigations are carried out to bring the culprits to book or face the wrath of the law.

The group said: “Any position contrary we shall meet the Imo State Government, IGP, others in court in no distant time. We also call on international Communities to join force in Condemning this anti-democracy actions shown to us as a group in nation building and service to humanity.

The group while revealing that the recent alleged threats to life sent to Ikenga Ugochinyere by an aide to Governor Uzodinma of Imo State as alleged by CUPP’s National Co-spokeman, Comrade Mark Adebayo depicts a bad omen and a crime committed by Imo State Government as well as ineptitude of security agencies in the State.

The group warns that it will take drastic action by seeking a redress in the court of law if the culprits go unpunished. CUPP lamented that the attack is an ugly development that sends a bad signal that negates the confidence repose on Imo State Government and Security agencies to protect the lives of the citizenry as well as a threat to democracy.
