…..Adirieje Propagates The ‘6 Star General’ Competences Of Effective Leadership For Non-Profits
….As the AHOA CEO Bags Lifetime Achievement Award; Commends CSR Reporters On Global Honour.

The CEO of Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje has enjoined Civic Space leaders to leverage on strategic leadership theory so as to improve the performance of their non-profit organizations, while he stated that its metrics applicability is a sene-qua-non, major pre-requisite for effective transformational leadership.
The globally acclaimed Civic Space leader made this remark today being Sunday, July 9, 2023 in a telephone conversation with our reporter as he reacted to how Non-profit organizations can Improve performance through effective leadership strategy in respect of his recent Thursday, July 6, 2023 CSR Reporters’ Non-profit Excellence Award, which Afrihealth CEO, Dr Uzodinma Adirieje bagged as “The Winner of SDG-3 Champion Award” held at FCT, Abuja, Nigeria at the National Merit House.
You could recall that CSR REPORTERS, the organizing body for its annual “Non-profit Roundtable and Excellence Award had voted and announced Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) as the winner of the prestigious 2022 UN-SDG GOAL 3 – Good Health and Well-being Champion of the year Award; while Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for Health and Development Leadership on July 6, 2023 in FCT Abuja Nigeria at the National Merit House alongside other eminent Nigerians. Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje was joined by some members/partners of AHOA present at the event, to receive these Awards.
Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) is a Community- focused Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), International Movement/ Network Coalition and Think-tank deeply engaged in promoting policies, practices, programs and interventions that enhance productivity, accountability, transparency and civil society’s coordination/contributions in society welfare, social safety scheme, development, works in all 17 SDGs and sustainable development in different economic sectors such as Health, Social Development, Democracy & Good Governance, Community Development, Culture & Tourism, ecosystems, Education, Economy, Safety, Peace & Security, Climate change, Environment, Science &: Technology, Sports, Human Rights and other charitable interventions.
Dr. Uzo’ as he’s fondly called, dwelt briefly on how Non-profit organizations can leverage on effective leadership theory for effective leadership performance urged civic space leaders all over the word to use transformational leadership style, which he said embodies their organizational value to use their vision and mission and vision statement as motivation in every part of their job.
Emphatically, Adirieje propagated the importance of acquiring and deploying the necessary skills and knowledge along what he called the “Six Core Innovative Competencies of Effective Leadership [6-star General]” namely: Partnerships and Collaborations; Advocacy, Communication and Social/Resource Mobilization (ACSM); Research and Evidence-generation; Capacity Development and Learning; Outreaches and Community Engagements; and Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability (MEA).
In his words: “Effective leadership can improve Organization performance, leaders can reinforce organizational values by helping their people grow and develop through goal setting, opportunities and recognition. Non-profit organizations need to develop a good management strategy in order to deliver good results and be successful”.
“For Organizations to their performance, they need to focus on leadership and continuous use of knowledge, which can serve as essential key to success. Non-profit organizations can benefit from transformational leadership, which emphasizes a singular cause, vision and collaboration or global partnership as one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs”.
