BIOGRAPHY OF MR OGERO RICHARD AYOVUATA

Born on 10th May 1961 as third child and second son into the family of Late Mr and Mrs Uro Johnson Ayovuata, both of Uruwhre Quarters in Igbide , Isoko South LGA of Delta state, Nigeria, Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata is a Retired Environmental Health Officer at Grade Level 17 , an Environmental Activist and Humanitarian.
Guided by the vision to empower individuals to realize their potentials, he established and actively invested in various initiatives with a view to empower and support particularly the underprivileged. After his retirement from the civil service in 2019, he took up the responsibility and served as Founding Leader and Member Board of Trustees of the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative-CGWCI ; an NGO founded to uplift the economic and social status of vulnerable women , girls and children in Nigeria through provision of livelihood economic support and skill development, Sexual and Gender Based Violence-SGBV prevention and response, provision of clean and affordable power supply to energize primary health care facilities, climate change advocacy and skill development/empowerment of female prisoners. He tirelessly served in the aforementioned capacity from 2019 until his death in 2023.
As a man who invested all his days on earth serving humanity and impacting lives positively, Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata touched so many lives when he was in active service with the government and after his retirement.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata was raised in Delta state. He had his primary and secondary education at Urieh primary school owodhokpokpo Igbide in the year 1977 and Emore Grammar School Oleh in 1982 respectively where he took up the responsibility and functioned effectively as Games Prefect bringing innovations and development to the school through sports under the mentorship of his Uncle, Late Dr Obaro Aso who was the first principal of the school and also responsible for sponsoring his primary and secondary education.
Buoyed by his love for knowledge and the determination to equip himself properly to cave for himself, family and society a decent future, after his secondary school education,he got employed into the civil service with the Delta state government as a Sanitary Inspector in the Department of Environment , Isoko South LGA of Delta state thereafter proceeded to the School of Health Technology, Benin city , Edo state where he functioned as SUG(Student Union Government) President. He later proceeded to the prestigeous University of Benin where he obtained a degree in Health science . Later on, he proceeded to the Delta State University Abraka where he obtained a degree in Environment and Safety.

WORK EXPERIENCES

Ogero Richard Ayovuata wholeheartedly and diligently served the government and rose to the peak of his career where he retired at grade level 17. He was elected Nulge(Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees) Chairman in Uvwie Local Government Area for two consecutive times because of his hard work, excellence and commitment to development and growth especially as it relates to workers welfare.

He is survived by one wife and seven children

HUMANITARIAN SERVICES

Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata and his wife Mrs Hope Orevaoghene Ayovuata are both Founding Leaders and Members Board of Trustees of the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative-CGWCI with a stated vision “ To promote gender equality , realization of the rights of every woman, girl and child while providing opportunities for them geared at advancing economic empowerment , growth and sustainable development”. The organization has several chapters in Nigeria; Edo State Chapter, Lagos State Chapter, Abuja Chapter and Head Quarters in Asaba ,Delta state.
As a Safety Expert and an Environmental Activist, Mr. Ogero Richard Ayovuata has a firm belief in humanity and the role of every individual to ensure a clean environment and make our society a better place. This he expresses through several personal outreach projects he does most of the time in company of his beloved wife which includes visiting the orphanage homes, providing food items to underprivileged families, sanitation programs, etc
He also contributed handsomely to outreaches carried out by the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative-CGWCI which includes; prison projects, school projects, rural community projects, skill acquisition and entrepreneurial empowerment program for the less privileged and the solar energy project which provided electricity to the Primary Health Care Center in Oleh Community, thereby restoring electricity to a facility which operated for decades without having its own source of electricity.
Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata in the past few years has authored many articles on the Rosée Magazine which has gained a wide readership both locally and internationally such as ; Workplace safety, Common bathroom hazards for seniors and how to prevent them, Safety boots – why are they worn on sites? Basic safety rules every child should know,etc .

EXTRA CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES

Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata loves to play football and as he grew older , he will sit in his sitting room watching football.
The life of Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata is a testament to the power of faith, determination, and unwavering commitment to a higher purpose (service to humanity). From his humble beginnings in Igbide community to the great impacts he made through serving humanity while touching the nooks and crannies of Delta state has left an indelible mark on countless lives.
He was a dedicated and committed member of the Jehovah Witnesses , preaching and using his time to talk to Neighbours and friends about Jehovah and about his Kingdom because he had full faith in him.
As we reflect on his legacy, we are reminded that true success is not solely measured by material wealth but by the lives we touch and the positive change we bring to the world. Indeed, Mr Ogero Richard Ayovuata’s story serves as an inspiration to us all, urging us to strive for greatness and embrace the journey that lies ahead.
