As part of efforts towards celebrating a one year anniversary on the great feats attained by a CSO group in ‘Green Energy Project’, achievements recorded as regards “One Year Uninterrupted Power Supply In Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre’ in Isoko South LGA, Delta State, a reputable and grassroots based Civil Society Organization (CSO) into women, girls and children advocacy and development, Courageous Girls Women & Children Initiative (CGWCI) led by its Founder/CEO, Ms Ayovuata Uyoyou, has celebrated one year uninterrupted power supply in Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC).

Ms Ayovuata said that the power supply initiative has impacted positively on Oleh residents and the Primary Healthcare Sector.

Delta Uhuru reports that the CGWCI Boss, Ms Ayovuata pen-ultimate weekend soon after the “One Year Anniversary Celebration of Uninterrupted Electricity Supply At Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre gave kudos to the healthcare development partners; DTSG, MitchelEE Engineering Ltd, Elomaz Foundation and others who made the vision to be Actualized.

Ms Ayovuata said; “You could recall that on May 5, 2023 there was a wide media reports on my organization’s installation of 2.5kva Solar Energy System, a “Green Energy Project” in partnership with Delta State Government and MitchelEE Engineering Ltd , supported by Elomaz Foundation and others which restored uninterrupted electricity supply in Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre in Isoko South LGA of Delta State. CGWCI in this month of June, 2024 Celebrated the milestone”

Ms Ayovuata has commended her late father, Mr. Ogero Richard Ayovuata and other development partners on support towards the actualization of the vision.

The Founder/CEO of CGWCI, speaking to journalist at Oleh as group marked “One Year Anniversary of Uninterrupted Electricity from Solar Energy installation which Supplied uninterrupted electricity in Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre observed that the CGWCI’s Green Energy Project success has had multiplier effects on Isoko Communities’ Healthcare Sector Development.

In the words of the world acclaimed Gender Activist; “The Primary Healthcare Center, Oleh , Isoko South LGA of Delta State is celebrating one year of uninterrupted electricity supply following the installation of a 2.5kva Solar Energy System by the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative-CGWCI in partnership with the Delta State Government and MitchelEE Engineering Limited, supported by the Elomaz Foundation.

“Since the installation of the 2.5kva solar energy system on the 5th of May 2023, the Primary Healthcare Center in Oleh community have been enjoying uninterrupted electricity supply. We are glad to have had good testimonies from the management of Oleh Primary Healthcare Centre.

The Matron, Mrs Aforke Atedezi and her Assistant, Mrs Hope Orevaoghene Ayovuata had expressed so much excitement as the facility now enjoy 24/7 electricity”.

“The health facility’s uninterrupted electricity through the solar energy technology is currently achieving the health sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Through this intervention, residents of the community including nearby communities have access to efficient and cost effective health care services especially Sexual and Gender Based Violence – SGBV survivors which has ensured that details and records of SGBV survivors that have gone for medical treatments are now being enhanced and enforced.

“Yes! We can boldly say the Oleh Primary Healthcare Center is the most thriving health centre currently in Nigeria. This is because, a good number of persons including SGBV survivors have access to quality healthcare services”.

According to Ms Uyoyou, over 100 girls within the ages of 18 – 35 years were engaged in an intensive technical training on Solar Energy System Installation and Maintenance on the 11th of October 2022 – 5th of May 2023 . The installation of 2.5kva solar energy system which took place in Oleh Primary Healthcare Center on the 5th of May 2023 which we are celebrating today was implemented by the trainees under the supervision by our technical partner , MitchelEE Engineering Limited, in fulfillment of the requirements for their final Practicals after they have been trained .

“We must not forget that women currently make up one-third of the solar energy workforce and the CGWCI Green Energy Project was designed to bridge the gender inequality gap especially as it relates to the participation of women in STEM related skills, it has addressed the issue of inadequate electricity supply in our health facilities, promoted affordable and clean energy, addressed the issue of climate change, income inequality, among others. We wish to use this medium to appreciate Late Mr Richard Ogero Ayovuata, the Founding Leader of the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative-CGWCI who worked tirelessly to ensure that the CGWCI Green Energy Project 2022/23 was a huge success.
