*Delta LG Election 2024: Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje Urges For Unity, Hosts PDP Leaders, Members In Ward 9 & 10, Uvwie LGA*

****OGIDI-GBEGBAJE HOSTS PDP LEADERS, CANDIDATES…HARPS ON UNITY AHEAD OF ELECTIONS

Leaders and Executive members of the People’s Democratic Party in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have been urged to close ranks and work in unity to deliver victory for the party in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.

Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje, Chairman, Delta State Bureau for Pensions, made the call in his remarks when he played host to members of the PDP, comprising ward 9 and 10, in Uvwie Local Government, at his residence in Ekpan.
At the well-attended event, he said that there was a need for unity of purpose among party members to ensure victory at the polls.

Ogidi-Gbegbaje disclosed that he decided to host the Leaders and PDP candidates to shore up support for the party’s candidates at the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.

“It is important that the party takes the Local Government election seriously” he said, adding, “efforts must be intensified by all to ensure PDP candidates win across board.

The PDP deserves to win” he continued, “His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborewvori is working and has embarked on multi-billion-naira people-oriented projects in Uvwie and across the State. This is a fact that cannot be disputed,” he pointed out.

“A victory for the PDP will ensure the execution of more projects and empowerment for all Deltans as Governor Oborevwori means well for the Uvwie people” the pension boss said.

He concluded by calling on all Uvwie indigenes and residents to “maintain the peace and shun all acts of violence during the elections”.

In the same vein, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Chairman, Delta State Internal Revenue Service who attended the event, said: “Uvwie cannot afford to be in opposition and must work hard to ensure total victory for the PDP.

The mistake of the past,” he stressed, “must not repeat itself. We must all stand together and unite to rally round our dear Governor Sheriff Oborewvori, by voting overwhelmingly for the PDP candidates in the Local Government elections,” he emphasized.

Ighrakpata, who cited the meaningful projects being executed in Uvwie by the PDP, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, described them very commendable and applauding”, adding, “it is convincingly evident that Uvwie will benefit more when it continues to vote for our party the PDP.”

Elder Efe Okoledo, PDP Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Area, extolled Governor Oborevwori for making the PDP proud in Uvwie.

He said that “the Governor has elevated the prospects of our dear party with visible infrastructure and this has aided our campaign strategies. We are committed to ensuring complete success for the PDP in the coming elections.

We will campaign vigorously to every nook and cranny with this infrastructural evidence to tell the Uvwie people that PDP is the right party,” he said excitedly.

Other leaders of the party who spoke at different times were unanimous in their commitment to ensuring victory for the PDP. They pledged their support for the party and assured that they would work for the party candidates.

Present at the event were Hon. Ramsey Onoyake, immediate past Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council; Olorogun Anthony Ofoni and Andrew Agagbo, Uvwie PDP Chairmanship/V. Chairmanship candidates respectively, and Mr. Bright Edejewrho, a former Commissioner in the state, Chief Edmon Ofudje Uvwie PDP Campaign Director General. Others were the local government and ward executives of the party, women and youth Leaders and other party faithful.
