Chief Ika Etumuse, (FICA), Egbebeli-Ugoebeli of Igbodo-Kingdom, President/Founder, Ika Music and Entertainment Awards (IMEA), and Convener/Administrative Director of Ika People Worldwide Association, (IPWA), has sympathized with families of the victims of Diesel Tanker Fire Accident that occured on Sunday at Agbor in Ika South LGA of Delta State where four persons died and others sustained various degrees of injuries as a Community leader calls for stringent regulations to checkmate the activities of Trailers and Diesel/Petrol Tankers with questionable Road Worthiness in Delta State calls for attention
The media learnt this from Hon (Chief) Ika Etumuse today being Monday, January 6, 2025 in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State as the Igbodo-born entertainment and cultural expert expresses sadness, commiserates with the families of the victims of the Diesel Tanker Fire Incident that occured earlier this week on Sunday at Agbor in Ika South LGA of the state.
Our reporter gathered that the diesel tanker reportedly suffered a brake failure and fell at a traffic light junction and exploded into a ball of fire that burnt four persons to death leaving three other persons with various degrees of injuries in the explosion and the resultant inferno.
Hon. (Chief) Ika Etumuse, a renowned Author, and Community Leader par excellence based in Houston Texas, United States of America while expressing sadness over the ugly development that claimed lives in Ika land used the medium to appeal to Ika Sons and Daughters all over the World to support victims.
Ika Etumuse, FICA sympathizes with the families of Agbor tanker explosion victims while he called on the authorities to put in place a stringent regulations to effectively checkmate the road worthiness of vehicles plying the roads, particularly the trailers and fuel tankers.
Hon. (Chief) Ika Etumuse reacting further to the diesel tanker explosion on Sunday at Agbor in Ika South LGA of Delta State in which four persons lost their lives and few others seriously injured, Ika Etumuse described the incident as “horrific and lack of proper maintenance of vehicles”.
IPWA & IMEA Boss press release reads in parts: “Hence, the authorities should share large portions of the blame for this calamity in a brand new year. I hereby appealed to the Ika Sons and Daughters home and abroad to reach out to the affected families with condolence visits and financial support. “
“I must commend Ika South LGA people; the fire service, security agencies, and others who had rallied round to put out the fire to save lives in that unfortunate tanker accident, and mitigating against the ugly situation caused by this diesel tanker fire explosion that occurred on Sunday.
“This unfortunate accident happened to good people at a very difficult month of the year. We are saddened and in pains, that Agbor and Ika land have lost four of their sons and daughters. May their souls rest in perfect peace, and in the bossom of our Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen!!”
