Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, Professor of Accounting & Taxation and Vice Chancellor, Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra State, has called on good-spirited individuals in Anambra, Nigeria, Africa and beyond to give financial and technical support as institution will tomorrow embark on N5 Billion Naira Fund Raising for Infrastructural development and gets set to induct 414 students in tomorrow’s 13th combined Convocation Ceremony.

The media learnt this on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 as the VC briefed the media at the University’s Senate Chamber at Umunya ahead of Tomorrow’s 13th combined Convocation Ceremony as he commended the students on academic excellence attainment the institution’s Chancellor, Chairman Board of Governing Council, Management, Pro Chancellor, Senate and Convocation Committee Chairman, Secretary and members on support.

Tansian University VC during the press briefing noted that the Convocation lecture centre on the “Imperativeness of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Contemporary Society” as a time will come machines will take over most of the human tasks. He then commended the founding father of the University and entire Management for their immense support to make this year’s, tomorrow’s convocation ceremony a success.

According to Tansian University VC, the institution has in the lists of those to be graduated tomorrow, 3 students in First Class grade category, 136 students in the grade category of 2nd Class Upper Division, 237 student in the grade category, 4 students in the third class grade category, and for the institution’s Post-graduate programs, 3 PGD students, 31 Masters Degree Students graduated bringing all to a total of 414 students to be inducted tomorrow.

In the words of the Tansian University VC: “As we prepare tomorrow to celebrate the students’ achievements at the 13th convocation ceremony scheduled for tomorrow March 29. 2025, we are glad to announce that a total of 414 students will be inducted. That is, a total of 380 undergraduate and 34 postgraduate students will be graduating”.

“Amongst the graduates, three students will receive first-class honors, while 136 will be awarded Second Class Upper Division. Additionally, 237 students will attain Second Class Lower Division and four will graduate with Third Class honors. The postgraduate cohort includes three students earning diplomas and 31 completing their Master’s degrees across various departments. The ceremony will also feature the conferral of honorary degrees to distinguished individuals, including Chief Sylvester Okonkwo, Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Igwe Alex Onyido, the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi; and Hon. Pius Okoye, Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly”.

“As part of its commitment to excellence, the university will offer automatic employment to the first-class graduates, along with prizes for outstanding performance across different faculties and departments. In addition to the graduation ceremony, the university will host a public lecture on Artificial Intelligence and engage in various projects on March 28, 2025, including tree planting and the laying of foundations, as well as the commissioning and naming of new projects.

“This development is part of a broader initiative that aims to raise N5 billion for infrastructural improvements, chaired by Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, a former House of Representatives member. Tansian University is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience through innovative teaching, research, and capacity-building initiatives. This commitment aims to empower graduates to become employers of labor and to foster an improved academic environment for both teaching staff and students. Tansian University Tomorrow’s 13th Combined Convocation Ceremony will witness award of degrees and prices. Prior to the press briefing by the VC, Rev Fr. Edwin Obiorah, the Chancellor & Chairman of Board of Governing Council who doubles as the first Catholic Priest in Nigeria to be elevated to the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria laid the foundation for University’s Faculty of Law building and new entrance gate to give the institution a world-class look as centre of global academic excellence and learning.

Rev father Obiorah SAN at the event has commended the VC and his management team on hardwork for making the institution one of the best private Universities in Nigeria and the world at Large. He noted that the University is committed to its vision and mission statement to build students fully equipped for academic excellence to uphold excellent in morals and patriotism to serve the nation in different areas of economic and socio-cultural development of Nigeria and the world at large.

In his words: We are happy today to be amongst those who laid the foundation for this enduring project, Faculty of law building of this great University. By this time next year the building will be ready for use. We are also, very glad to witness the laying of foundation blocks for a new befitting entrance gate for this great institution. The engineers, contractors had been mobilized to site, by God’s Special grace within three weeks it will be ready. My sincere thanks goes to God almighty. I commend the VC, and entire Management for their commitment and immense support towards actualizing this great vision. More projects are coming and will be actualized. Tansian University will continue to maintain sustainability in advancing the frontier of Knowledge, training and research.

Tansian University is currently excelling on its graduate and Post graduate programs which are duly approved, fully accredited by NUC in the Faculties of Management and Social Sciences, Natural & Applied Sciences, Education, Health & Nursing Sciences and others.
