ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili, (JP), The Ekwugbama Igbodo, retired as an AGM (Property and Works) in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Enugu Zone, and AGM (Facilities Management) in Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Enugu. He is one of the most outstanding Patriots amongst Ika Sons and Daughters who have made FIRSTS in their various fields of human endeavors.
ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili hails from Igbodo Kingdom in Ika North East LGA of Delta State. He is a man with the swagger and one of the most diversified, humble, and amiable personalities of our generation.
ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili (JP) is a seasoned Professional, Public Sector Administrator, Man of God, Community Leader of note bestowed with the chieftaincy title “Ekwugbama Igbodo” as an award for his outstanding patriotism, and a Peace Lover/Justice of Peace of Delta State. He had his Primary School Education at the Orie Primary School, Igbodo, the FIRST Primary School in Ika land established in 1903, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (Primary 6) in 1971 before proceeding to Iyi-Agor Grammar School (Now Anglican Grammar School), Ubulu-Uku, between 1972 – 1976, where he graduated with a Division 2 Grade. While at the lower 6th Form at the defunct Federsl School of Arts and Science (FSAS), Ondo, in 1977, the young Peter Chiemeke Ozili gained admission into the University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife and also into the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, to study Agricultural Economics and Estate Management respectively. Cut in a web of choice, he opted to study Estate Management at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, following his Academic Counsellor’s advice for reasons of better job opportunities after graduation. Between 1978 and 1982, He attended the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo State, and obtained HND in Estate Management, Upper Credit.
ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke-Ozili never regretted the decision made on the choice of course of study then, and he is ever grateful to the Academic Counsellor who counselled him rightly.
After his NYSC scheme in Akure, Ondo State at Ministry of Housing , Lands and Surveys Akure,1982/1983, He was employed by the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), designated him as Higher Estate Officer (HEO), and posted to the Property Department, Corporate Headquarters Annexe, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos in July, 1983.
In 1986, Chief/Rev. Peter OZILI took the Nigerian Institution of Estate Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV)’s Direct Final Examination and passed before being elected as Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in 1988. The Ika-born Son of the Soil, Peter Chiemeke Ozili added another feather to his cap by winning the Highest National Prize of the Institution – The Fortune Ebie’s Prize for the Best Candidate in the Test of Professional Competence/Election into Corporate Membership of the Institution for the year 1988, which was instituted by an Ika illustrious Son & Father, late (Sir) S. P. O. Fortune Ebie, PPNIVS and coincidentally ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili (JP), the Ekwugbama Igbodo became the first Ika Person in the Profession of Estate Surveying and Valuation to win the prestigious Prize. This achievement made him to become close to the late Sir S.P.O Fortune Ebie (aka) “MR FESTAC” who later mentored and encouraged him to join the Ika Group of Leaders, now known as ONU IKA NIGERIA, the Mouth Piece of Ika Nation at a youthful age, in Lagos. Correspondingly, this prize earned Peter Chiemeke Ozili letter of commendation as well as salary increment by his employer (NEPA) in recognition of this brilliance feat.
Chief Peter Chiemeke Ozili reached the Professional climax of his career when he was elevated to the Fellowship Cadre of the Institution and inducted on 20/11/1999 at Eko Le Meridien Hotels and Towers (Now Eko Hotels and Suites), Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. He was also elected by members of the Institution (NIESV) to represent her at the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON), a Federal Government regulatory body which regulates the Practice of Estate Surveying and Valuation in Nigeria and he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board by the Minister of Power, Works, and Housing for 2 terms of 3 years (2007-2010) and (2013-2016) respectively. ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili (JP), the Ekwugbama Igbodo, became the first Ika Person to occupy and hold that position.
Currently, ESV(Chief/Rev) Peter Chiemeke Ozili (JP), FNIVS, the Ekwugbama Igbodo is the Principal Partner of Ozili Ozili & Company, Estate Surveyors and Valuers with Head Office in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.
He belongs to many other Professional Institutions; and also obtained an M.Sc in Transport Studies with bias in Transport Infrastructure, and came out as the overall best student in both Full-Time & Part-Time classes, 1997 – 1999 at the Ogun State University (Now Bisi Onabanjo University), Ago – Iwoye.
He was formally ordained into the Pastoral Ministry as a Reverend on 09/08/2019 and he is currently one of the Pastors at the DLA Provincial Headquarters Church (CGMI), Asaba from 2016 – till date.
