President of Rotary Club Asaba GRA, Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje yesterday led his members on a donation spree at the Central Hospital Kwale.
Our reporter was part of the media team that witnessed the yesterday’s event in kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State as Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje led a team of Rotary Club GRA, Asaba to Kwale Government Central Hospital and donated a baby incubator, a major need to stem the tide of infant mortality in the community.
It was bonanza as Delivery Kits were also donated and freely distributed to all pregnant women at the hospital on the day.
The donations were made in support of the newly created chapter of Rotary Club International in Kwale, named New Dawn. Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje is also the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocols, Asaba.
According to Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje at the well attended event: “Indigent pregnant Women are mostly the patients at the Central Hospital, Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State. Each of the expectant mothers received a Delivery Kit. A Baby Incubator was also donated to the hospital”.
Speaking further, he said: “The official Presentation is made by me as the President, Rotary Club of Asaba GRA, and witnessed by some other invited dignitaries present which included amongst others: Rtn Augustus, Asst. Gov. Zone 11 and Rtn Joe, Zone 12.
Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje offered his thanks to all present and especially gave words of appreciation to His Royal Majesty Nzeukwu Isaac Obi, the Oduosa (traditional ruler) of Utagbe-Ogbe Kingdom. He also thanked Rtn. Joe Olisedeme Assistant Governor of Zone 11).
He particularly urged the expectant women who received Delivery Kits from Rotary Club Asaba GRA, to make good use of the equipment given them in good faith. He called out Mrs Anthonia Iseh, Jennifer Adulam, Zainab Yahaya and others and thanked them for making themselves available. He exhorted them to reach out to Rotary International for other needs in the course of their pregnancy.
Sir Ogidi-Gbegbaje Said: “We urge the management to make good use of the hospital equipment provided to them for the good of the patients and for best maternal care and services in the hospital”.
