Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade is a man of impeccable character worth emulating in all ramifications with giant development strides over the years. He was born into the Mulade family of Benikrukru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South West LGA of Delta State. He is the Ibe-Seremowei (The pride and image promoter) of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, a traditional title bestowed on a peace-loving person with good reputation and character, as well as high integrity.
Chief Mulade Sheriff is a notable philanthropist. He has, in the past two decades, committed himself to the project of building an egalitarian society for Nigeria. He is focused and has a big heart of gold dedicated to social, infrastructural and educational development, as well as peace and environmental sustainability, especially in the rural communities. His love for the emancipation of the poor and vulnerable rural and riverine dwellers, is exceptional and worth emulating by leaders all over the world.
He is educated, well traveled and has several years of cognate experience in peace advocacy in the Niger Delta Region, particularly troubled spots. He has good knowledge of the causes of environmental degradation in the Niger Delta Region, and has been advocating for the development of the region in line with international best practices.
He is one the initiators and advocates of the Presidential Amnesty Programme currently in place to end militiancy in the Niger Delta Region, a major player and one of those who want the end of violent agitations in the Niger Delta Region, having been a certified nonviolence educator trained by the University of Rhode Island, U.S.A.
Chief (Comrade) Mulade was a victim of poor education due to the difficult riverine terrain where he grew up. He, however, made deliberate efforts to scale the high huddles by his life. He got his First School Leaving Certificate from Torufa Primary School, in 1992, Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSC), from Kefe Academy in 2003; National Diploma in Business Studies, at Abia State Polytechnic in 2010, B.Sc (Hons) in Polical Science, Delta State University, Abraka in 2014, with M.Sc. Political Science/International Relations and M.Sc. Peace, Security and Development Studies (in view) at Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State.
He also had a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), Mass Communication from the International Institute of Journalism, IIJ, affiliated to University of Maiduguri, Nigeria.
In July, 2019, he was awarded the Certificate of Participation at the 10th Environmental Outreach Magazine Independent Pan African Youth Parliament, IPAYP, while in February same year, he received a certificate of participation at the 1st Africa Conference on Sustainable Development Goals, and also a Stakeholder Certificate as the National Advisor Y-SDGs SDG School Club. He was also honoured with an Award by the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), in December, 2019.
In Dec, 2018, the Institute of Management Consultants, IMC Nigeria, awarded Chief Mulade a Certificate of Fellow in recognition of his outstanding academic and professional standing, and for demonstrating commitment towards creating, maintaining, extending and promoting the highest world standard in management consulting practices, as well as in ethnic competence and client service. He was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Quality Service to Humanity in Nigeria, by Peace Magazine (Rebuilding the New Nigeria in Peace) in Nov. 2018; Certificate of participation in Conflict Management and Peacebuilding Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) Dec.2018; He was also honoured with awards by the Most Distinguished Leader in Diligence and Meritorious Services to Humanity by Fresh Facts Magazine, in March, 2018.
In November, 2017, he received a Certificate of completion of training on ADR Spectrum; Communication; Basic Psychology; Negotiation; Conciliation; Conflict and Analysis and Professional Ethnics, from the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) ; a Certificate of recognition and appreciation for his unparalleled contribution through Selfless Services and Outstanding Performance towards the growth of youths and the promotion of Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria, by the Boys’ Brigade of Nigeria in July, 2016; Certificate on Resource Mobilization and budget Advocacy Training organized for Egbema Gbaramatu Development Foundation, EGCDF, Participatory Partnership for Community Development in July, 2013.
He was also honoured with the Certifcate of attendance on Waste Management Conference organized by Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford, United Kingdom, in 2013; Nigerian Tourist ‘N’ Passengers Association (Member) in 2011, Certificate of Satisfied Project Management in 2010; Participation in the International Visitors Leadership Programme of 2008, organized by the United State Development of States on Conflict Resolution in the United States; Certificate of Participation in a Workshop on Negotiation and Leadership, Warri, Nigeria, by Institute of Peace with Search for Common Grounds in partnership with the Africa Center Corporate Responsibility in Feb, 2008; Certificate of Conflict Management and Kingian Nonviolence Education; the Center for Non Nonviolence and Peace Studies, University of Rhode Island, RI, USA in June, 2006; and a Certificate of attendance of Parker Drilling/NUPENG Labour Relations Retreat, by Parker Drilling Nigeria Limited, in April, 2003, and many more.
Comrade Mulade has personally funded and implemented community development projects and programmes and evaluated government agreements with participating groups and other stakeholders as a result of his passion for the environment, peace and development.
His passion for human capital development led top the establishment of an NGO, the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ which helped in providing the needed support for and assistance to people of Delta State and beyond.
He is a hero in every sense of the word.
